Tap Simulator: Reborn Egg Hatching Guide: How to Hatch Eggs

How to hatch eggs in Tap Simulator: Reborn: find an egg station, pay the shown coin cost, hatch one or three and receive your pet, plus costs and fixes.

A view of the game world in Tap Simulator: Reborn

Hatching is the core loop of Tap Simulator: Reborn — every pet you own multiplies your tapping power, and pets come from eggs. The checked procedure is short. Walk to an egg station in an area you have unlocked, open its hatch menu, confirm the coin price shown, then pick hatch one or hatch three (both work without spending Robux), or hatch eight if you own the octo hatch game pass. A hatching animation plays, the result appears with its on-screen odds, and the new pet lands in your inventory ready to equip.

Finding a hatchable egg

The tutorial handles your first hatch. The opening prompt tells you to "hatch your first pet — keep tapping," then lets you choose a starter — the loyal and brave doggy, the quick and curious cat, or the bouncy and sweet bunny (a random pick works too) — and name it.

After that, eggs stand as stations in the world. Every area you unlock holds its own egg or eggs, and you walk to them like any other object: players talk about heading over to "the spiked egg" or confirming an area has "only one egg" before opening it.

Two kinds of gates sit between you and a new egg:

  • Progression unlocks the location. The bridge out of the starting area breaks once you have 700 tap power, and later areas are bought outright — the Sky Island costs 10 million coins before its eggs become hatchable. You cannot hatch an egg in an area you have not opened.
  • Robux passes widen quantity and speed, not access. Game passes never unlock an egg itself; they only add bigger batch hatches and faster hatching (more below).

For a confirmed catalogue of which eggs currently exist and where they sit, check the Tap Simulator: Reborn egg list.

How to hatch an egg, step by step

  1. Reach the egg. Walk to the egg station in the area you want to hatch from.
  2. Open its hatch menu. Playthroughs show on-screen hatch buttons at the egg; one player also describes pressing E to open a desert-area egg. Either way, use the prompt the egg shows you.
  3. Read the price and the counter. The egg interface is a "charge"-style menu that fills to show what you can afford, and a counter at the top shows how many hatches your coins currently cover — "I could buy four and then I'm going to be able to buy one," as one player worked out after initially mistaking it for a luck boost.
  4. Pick a quantity. Choose hatch one, hatch three for free, or hatch eight if you own the octo hatch game pass.
  5. Confirm and watch the animation. Payment comes out of your coins, and the hatching animation plays — a sequence players single out for praise.
  6. Read the result. The pet appears with its displayed odds on screen — an early kitty is one in three, a bunny one in 10, a spotted-egg chick one in two — and lands in your possession immediately, ready to equip.

That last step is your success check: if the animation finished and the pet is in your inventory, the hatch worked.

Hatch options: one, three, eight, and auto

  • Hatch one is the basic single purchase at the egg's coin price.
  • Hatch three is a free triple hatch. Multiple playthroughs confirm it: "I can, by the way, do a triple opening. Yes, it's also free here. X8 is already for robux."
  • Hatch eight requires the octo hatch game pass, listed at 995 Robux in the shop, where Fast Hatch (1.5x hatch speed) is listed at 199 Robux. During the game's early-testing phase passes could not be purchased at all, leaving hatch one and hatch three as the only usable options.
  • Auto open keeps hatching without re-clicking each egg — leaderboard chasers run it through long grinds. Its pace scales with the gem-upgrade tree: hatch speed one and two, plus egg luck one and two, which one player buys in the order egg luck, hatch speed one, egg luck two, hatch speed two.
  • Offline hatching: one player documents that you can start auto hatching and leave the game immediately without waiting to be disconnected. When you rejoin, the hatches have run at quarter speed — ten real hours away yields roughly two and a half hours' worth of hatches. Treat that quarter-speed figure as one player's measurement, not an official number.

What eggs cost

Coins are the hatch resource — they buy both upgrades and eggs. Costs observed across playthroughs:

Egg (where noted)Observed costContext
Starter egg (spawn)100 coins first, 200 nextRelease-day playthrough
Spotted egg (past the bridge)300,000 coinsRelease-day playthrough
Spiked egg900,000 for three (~300,000 each)Two separate playthroughs
Nimbus egg (Sky Island)21,000,000 single; 15,000,000 for three (~5,000,000 each)Early-testing build vs. release playthrough
Sky egg25,000,000 singleA 5,000,000 egg also sits on Sky Island
Pumpkin egg (autumn area)5,000,000,000Release playthrough
Mushroom-area eggs180,000,000,000 and 600,000,000,000Two eggs in one area
Desert-area egg1,000,000,000,000 eachSingle playthrough
Void egg (last area)15,000,000,000,000,000 for eightSingle playthrough

These are single-session observations, and one set comes from the pre-release testing build — the Nimbus egg alone shows 21 million in early testing against a 15 million triple hatch at release, so values clearly move between builds. Treat the table as snapshots and trust the egg's charge menu for the live price. If your counter says you cannot afford a hatch yet, the coins guide covers building your income; before settling into a long grind it is also worth a quick look at the codes page in case a boost is running.

After the hatch: inventory, equipping, and the index

The new pet goes straight into your inventory — "Okay, we got a cat. All right, equipped," is a typical hatch-to-team moment. Use equip best to sort your strongest pets into the active team, then tune the lineup in the pet team guide.

The index machine (unlocked after you break the first bridge) records everything you have hatched, with claimable rewards as entries fill in. Completing an egg's index paid one completionist a larger pet storage cap — 375 slots — plus a hatch speed bonus that stacks with the gem upgrades. Secret entries in the index stay hidden until you own every regular pet of the relevant egg, after which they reveal their source and become hatchable targets.

Hatching specific eggs is also a quest objective: the quest list includes "open a Nimbus egg" and "open a sky egg," and finishing the Nimbus quest paid 7.5 million coins in one playthrough.

When hatching goes wrong

  • "Storage full" mid-session. Mass hatching fills pet storage. Delete pets you do not need, and before a long auto-hatch session set the auto-delete filters by rarity — golden, rainbow, diamond, and normal pets can all be auto-deleted. Switch auto-delete off when you are collecting for the index, since you need to keep those pets.
  • Unwanted hatches. Auto open sits close to the egg interaction, and one player triggered it by accident. Confirm which button you are pressing before clicking around an egg.
  • Hatch eight is greyed out or unavailable. It requires the octo hatch game pass; without it, hatch one and hatch three are your options.
  • The counter shows fewer hatches than you expected. That is the affordability display, not a glitch — it means your coins cover fewer hatches at the current price. Earn more coins and the number rises.
