Tap Simulator: Reborn Golden Pets: What They Are and How to Get One
Golden pets in Tap Simulator: Reborn are the upgrade tier above Normal. Craft one from duplicate pets at the golden machine or hatch one straight from an egg.
In Tap Simulator: Reborn, Golden is not a separate pet species — it's the first upgrade tier of a pet you already own. Every pet starts as its regular version, and there are two verified ways to get the gold form: craft one from duplicates of the same pet at a golden crafting machine, or get lucky and hatch one straight out of an egg. Golden sits one step above Normal in the variant chain, which runs regular → Golden → Diamond → Rainbow.

What "Golden" means for a pet
A Golden pet is the gold version of a pet you hatched, not a new entry on the egg list. Players describe the system the same way: the regular pet is the first tier, and once you own enough copies "you can select anywhere from one to six to make them golden." From there, goldens can be made into Diamond pets and diamonds into Rainbow — "that's how you make the best version of a pet."
Golden is tracked as its own category in the pet index. As one player puts it, "There's a golden index, diamond index, and a rainbow index" — a completionist in the footage counted 35 of 65 golden entries while working toward every normal, golden, diamond and rainbow slot. Filling the golden category pays index rewards, and Golden also ties into a dedicated goldens mastery (which unlocks a golden ring at level 100) and to quests such as "turn a pet golden" and "turn three pets golden."
The main reason to bother is power. A player crafted a spiked-egg Bear he called a 27x pet and it came back as "a 102x" golden — "a lot better than any of our pets at the moment." Another player said his crafted goldens had "absolutely insane stats" and "literally just doubled our team power." One early-testing build showed the craft as "times three power," but that footage predates release and release-game jumps vary a lot, so don't treat 3x as a fixed rule — expect a big upgrade, not one exact number.
How to craft a Golden pet from duplicates
- Hatch duplicates of one pet. Open eggs until you own several copies of the same regular pet — that's the only input. (Our egg hatching guide covers hatching in detail.)
- Find a golden crafting machine. The first one stands "to the left side of the basic eggs" at spawn, and the tutorial eventually walks you to the Golden Crafter — one player followed it and "made our first golden pet." Players also call it the goldie machine, and matching machines appear in later zones too: autumn, the desert and the final zone all had one on screen.
- Select your pet and load the slots. Pick the pet you want to upgrade, then load one to six copies of it. The autofill button does this instantly, and players praise it: "You can autofill... Golden. Continue. Autofill. Golden."
- Check the displayed chance, then confirm. The machine shows a success percentage before you commit. Six copies of the same pet is a guaranteed 100% craft. Fewer copies is a gamble — observed attempts displayed 13%, 60–63% and 80%, and the low rolls can fail: a 13% craft succeeded on camera while other attempts failed outright. One player autofilled full stacks and ran "this 100% easily" back to back.
- Collect the golden result. On success the pet returns as its Golden variant with a visibly larger multiplier — a fused bunny became "a golden bunny," an 80% craft produced a golden doing 600 power, and the bears above jumped to 102x.
Two things to know before you load the machine:
- What a failed craft does to your pets isn't clearly shown. Players react as though failed rolls cost them the copies, but nothing in the available footage states it outright. Until that's confirmed, don't load pets you can't afford to lose into a low-percentage roll — save six copies when the upgrade matters.
- No coin cost per attempt ever appears on screen. The documented inputs are just the duplicate pets and the displayed success chance.
How to hatch a Golden pet directly
Golden pets also drop from eggs as-is, with no machine involved. Players pull them throughout the game: "Ooh, we got a golden. That's our first golden off a hatch"; a golden pumpkin kitty doing just over 1.1k power; a golden angel that instantly became one player's best pet; and one player whose very first mythical hatched already golden.
The base chance isn't posted anywhere in the footage, but several systems raise it:
- Magical Egg game pass — its shop description says "There's a chance there are pets already golden if we're lucky." A player reading the exclusive shop reports it pays out a golden roughly once every 20 eggs, with rainbows around one in 100 (a single player's report, not an official rate).
- Golden Touch pet enchant — worth about 2% golden chance per pet hatched. As one player works it out: "Even though 2% doesn't seem like a lot, when you hatch eight pets at a time, that's like a 16% chance every roll that you'll get something golden."
- Shrine blessing — when you claim your shrine you can pick a golden chance option (shown as "golden rainbow chance"); a top player weighs "Should I boost my luck or should I just boost golden chance?"
- Golden chance gem upgrade — a separate golden chance purchase sits in the egg upgrades tab.
Keep these hatch odds separate from crafting numbers: the 13–80% percentages describe crafting gambles at the machine, not egg hatch rates.
Quests that pay you to go golden
Golden crafting doubles as quest progress early on. Finishing "turn a pet golden" paid one player 250 gems, with "turn three pets golden" as the follow-up; another player chased "a free 750 rebirths if we make three pets golden." Your first few crafts are often best spent on whichever duplicate stack clears a quest.
What isn't confirmed
A few details remain unobserved, and they're worth knowing before you commit resources:
- The exact power multiplier formula — only the early-testing "3x" figure and individual results like 27x → 102x are documented.
- A complete success table for one to five copies — only spot percentages (13%, 60%, 63%, 80%, 100% at six) have been seen.
- Whether failed crafts consume the loaded pets, as noted above.
- An exhaustive map of machine locations — spawn, autumn, the desert and the final zone are where players encountered them on camera.
Chances, quest rewards and machine placement can all shift with updates, so check your in-game percentages before each craft. Before spending a big stack of duplicates, cross-reference the pet against the pet list to confirm the entry is worth the golden slot in your index — and if you're deciding which upgraded pets to field, the pet team guide covers how to build around them.
