Tap Simulator: Reborn Coins Guide: Earning and Spending Coins

Coins are Tap Simulator: Reborn's tap currency. Learn how tapping earns Coins, what raises the rate, and where Coins go: eggs, island unlocks and rebirths.

Tap Simulator: Reborn runs on one core currency: Coins. Tapping is what earns them — the official description opens with "💰 Tap to earn Coins! 🥚 Hatch eggs for awesome pets! ♻️ Rebirth to get even stronger! 🏝️ Unlock new islands! 🏆 Become the #1 tapper!" — and the confirmed Coin sinks are exactly the reinvestment steps in that loop: hatching eggs, buying island and area unlocks, and performing rebirths. Everything else on the shop side (the gem skill tree, the Robux store, tokens) is paid for with a different currency. This guide covers how Coins come in, what raises the rate, and the verified places Coins go.

How tapping earns Coins

Tap the big on-screen button or click the screen itself — both the tap counter and your Coin balance climb with each press. One early-access player highlights the change from the original game: this title pays Coins per tap rather than a separate "taps" counter, so every tap already feeds the currency you spend.

There is no fixed per-tap value shown anywhere in the UI; the payout scales with your account:

  • Pets. Each equipped pet raises the rate — "each one multiplies your tapping power, which means every click earns more." Pet cards display coin multipliers (one hatched pet read "31 times coins"; a fungi dragon "gives us a 4.5x multiplier for coins"), and you can sort egg pets by coins to watch per-second output grow as your team improves. The scaling is steep: an early Spotted-Egg team produced "a little bit over 300 a second," while a team of golden-crafted spike-egg bears pushed past "400k plus coins a second." See the pet list for what to chase.
  • Rebirths. The rebirth screen displays the combined per-tap benefit — "3x pets and 2x rebirth equals six per tap" — and bigger rebirth buttons unlock as you progress.
  • Gem skill-tree upgrades. Click power, critical clicks and "auto coins, plus 10% coins from auto clicks" all raise Coin gain, but they are bought with Gems, not Coins.
  • The auto clicker. Unlocked from the gem shop for 20 Gems, it keeps the loop tapping hands-free.

Timed world events can also raise the rate directly: one event ran an explicit Coin boost alongside a friend-luck boost and a pet-level boost. Check the Updates page for what's currently live.

Repeatable Coin sources beyond tapping

Tapping is the official earner, but players cycle several repeatable sources alongside it:

  • Chests. A chest beside the starter eggs pays 960 Coins when broken and comes back. Two large map chests — especially the pyramid-area one — give "a insane amount of coins"; one player's pyramid payout covered their top rebirth option, and they estimate it refills on "about an every six-hour cool down" (a personal estimate, not a displayed timer). A Sky Island chest opens with E and paid rebirths plus "a ton of coins." Other runs log a big second-island chest at roughly 200–300 million per open and a desert tap chest worth 300 trillion in one narration.
  • Critters. Every area has a small jumping creature — a fluffy cloud in the first area, a prickly cactus in the desert, themed blobs elsewhere. Knocking one out pays Coins and drops crafting items; a sky-island cloud paid 85 million and respawned about five minutes later in one session.
  • Quests. Quest rewards pay Coins directly: 7.5 million Coins for a Nimbus-egg quest, and a 7.5 billion Coin claim in the pumpkin area.
  • Events. Admin events can splash Coins on top: a flying-pig event paid 50k Coins per caught pig and "billions" per catch later while it was active.
  • Offline accrual. Returning players found "a lot of coins while I was AFK" — "this game gives coins while offline," which is rare for a tap game. The accrual rate isn't displayed.

Verified ways to spend Coins

Three actions consume Coins. The figures below are displayed prices read as players reached each milestone — a sample of the escalation, not a complete current price table, so recheck values whenever the economy changes.

Hatching eggs

Eggs are the main reinvestment, because the pets they hatch multiply every future tap.

EggDisplayed cost
Starter egg100 Coins, then 200 for the next
Spotted Egg10,000 Coins
Spiked egg (past the bridge)300k Coins each; 900,000 for three
Nimbus egg (Sky Island)5 million Coins; 15 million for three
Sky egg25 million Coins
Pumpkin egg5 billion Coins
Mushroom-area eggs180 billion and 600 billion Coins
Desert egg1 trillion Coins each
Final-area egg1.9 quadrillion Coins
Void egg (the best egg available at the time of that recording)15 quadrillion Coins for eight

Multi-hatch buttons charge a bundled figure (15 million for three Nimbus eggs, 900,000 for three spiked eggs, 15 quadrillion for eight Void eggs), matching the per-egg price times the count. For what hatches from each egg, see the egg hatching guide and the egg list.

Buying island and area unlocks

AreaDisplayed unlock cost
Sky Island10 million Coins
Autumn island13 billion Coins
Mushroom island500 billion Coins
Desert45 trillion Coins
Crystal-tier areaaround 500–600 trillion Coins (narrations differ)
Shadow World (final area)19 quadrillion Coins

Some areas can also be reached without paying the Coin price by double-jumping to them, but the jumps themselves are bought with Gems (see below). The full process is covered in the island unlock guide.

Performing rebirths

Rebirths are a Coin sink that pays you back in a different currency. Observed displayed costs:

  • The first rebirth requires 800 Coins.
  • 10,000 saved Coins bought five rebirths early on.
  • 625 rebirths cost 4,400 Coins in a later area.
  • 78,000 rebirths cost 362 billion Coins near the end of a run.

The cost curve isn't a formula — always check the price shown at your current progression. Every rebirth pays back Gems ("we get gems for every rebirth"), which fund the gem skill tree, so Coins spent here convert into Gems and per-tap benefits rather than a direct Coin refund. The rebirth guide covers the benefits in detail.

What Coins don't buy

Keep these purchases separate when you're budgeting:

  • Gems pay for the skill tree (auto clicker 20 Gems, auto clicker speed 500 Gems, auto rebirth 2.5k Gems, auto coins 30k Gems) and double jumps (50k and 440k Gems). Gems come primarily from rebirths.
  • Robux pay for the shop's bundles (hatch bundle 5,749 Robux), limited eggs (magic eggs 1,800; the limited-time Chronus egg 399), game passes (octo hatch 995; secret hunter 2,000) and token bundles (200–2,500 Robux).
  • Tokens are a separate system that sits alongside Coins; where they come from isn't clearly spelled out in the shop itself.

One labeling caution: community videos often say "clicks," "taps," "money" or even "dollars" for the same accumulating tap currency, so check which currency a price is actually charging before treating it as a Coin cost. And codes or giveaways are not Coin-earning routes — Coin totals come from gameplay — while the game description notes "Trading coming soon.." for trading. Current code strings, if you want them anyway, live on the Codes page.

The Coin loop in practice

  1. Tap the on-screen button or the screen to build your first few hundred Coins.
  2. Buy the starter eggs (100, then 200 Coins) and equip the best pets — sort by coins to see the per-tap gain climb.
  3. Rebirth once it's affordable (the first costs 800 Coins) for a higher per-tap rate plus Gems.
  4. Spend those Gems on the auto clicker and skill-tree Coin upgrades so the loop runs itself.
  5. Bank toward the next island unlock — Sky Island is 10 million Coins — where better eggs, chests and critters raise the ceiling again.
  6. Repeat: every better pet multiplies the taps that fund the next egg, rebirth and island.

When your balance covers the next egg, the egg hatching guide has the hatch-rate details; when rebirths come cheap relative to your income, the rebirth guide explains what the benefits do; brand-new players can start with the beginner guide. If you want the whole-game route across all systems instead, see the fast progression guide — this page keeps its focus on the Coin economy alone.
